The Ramada Seoul Hotel in Samseong-dong, Gangnam will be shut down for a month after a prostitution bust, the Gangnam District Office said Tuesday.
Police busted the hotel twice last year, in June and October, for providing facilities for prostitution, an official at Gangnam District Office said. He added the closure aims to "send a strong warning against such flagrant disregard for the law."
This is the first time an entire hotel is being shut for facilitating prostitution. The closure will start in March once administrative procedures are complete.
Gangnam District Office vowed to continue to crack down on hotels that encourage commercial sex.
