"The Tower," a disaster film starring Sol Kyung-gu and Son Ye-jin about a fire that erupts in a luxury high rise on Christmas Eve, has drawn 5.01 million moviegoers as of Tuesday, according to the Korean Film Council.
The movie sold one million tickets just four days after it hit cinemas on Christmas Day, two million in its first week, three million 12 days and four million just 18 days after it premiered.
It is still attracting 50,000 moviegoers on every weekday and double this number at weekends on average as it enters its fifth week at local theaters.
