Korean Air on Wednesday signed a sponsorship contract with the organizing committee of the 2013 Pyeongchang Special Olympics World Winter Games at an event attended by Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho and organizing committee chairwoman Na Kyung-won.
The airline will provide flight tickets for officials of developing countries so they can attend the event, as well as an additional W300 million (US$1=W1,066).
The Special Olympics is an international sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities, and is held every other year. This year it will take place in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province from Jan. 29 to Feb. 5, and will feature about 3,200 athletes from 111 countries.
