LG Electronics next smartphone slated for release in the first quarter of this year will be called the Optimus G Pro, the company said Monday.
It is the second model of the Optimus series following the Optimus G released last year and will feature a 5.5-inch HD display with a wider screen and greater clarity than its predecessor. It will also come with a quad-core processor and 13 megapixel camera.
Industry watchers expect LG to unveil the phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
The company sold more than 1 million Optimus Gs around the world in the three months since its release last year.
"The new model will feature upgraded technology in all areas of software and hardware," an LG spokesman said.
