President-elect Park Geun-hye will meet Burmese democratic movement leader Aung San Suu Kyi in Seoul on Jan. 29.
A spokesman for Park's office on Sunday said the two will likely meet on the Jan. 29, when Aung San Suu Kyi is in Seoul for five days.
The Burmese politician will be visiting Korea for the opening ceremony of the 2013 Special Olympics in Pyeongchang. During her visit, she will receive an honorary doctorate in Education from Seoul National University, and pay her respects at the May 18 National Cemetery in Gwangju.
On Aung San Suu Kyi's 64th birthday under house arrest in 2009, Park wrote her a message saying, "Although you have to celebrate this birthday on your own, you are not alone."
