Between three to 10 cm of snowfall was predicted for Seoul and Gyeonggi Province on Monday morning. The Korea Meteorological Administration on Sunday said around 3 cm of snow would fall in Seoul by 9 a.m. impacting rush hour commuters.
Snow was expected to turn into sleet or rain in the afternoon, with expected rainfall of 12 mm. Temperatures are forecast to drop again about 9 p.m., leading to more snow on the ground.
Northern Gyeonggi Province and some parts of Gangwon Province are likely to see about 20 cm of snow between Monday and Tuesday. Some mountainous areas of Gangwon Province and the eastern coast will have more than 30 cm of snow.
