Reigning Olympic champion Kim Yu-na and promising young Korean skater Kim Jin-seo will represent the country at the World Figure Skating Championships, which kick off on March 11 in Ontario, Canada.
This year's worlds will also determine how many berths each country can earn for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
If either of the Kims finish first or second in their respective competitions, Korea will be able to send three skaters to the Olympics in the same discipline. It will bag two slots if they finish between third and 10th.
Sports Illustrated this week named Yu-na, dubbed Korea's "Ice Queen," as the favorite to win the worlds. Jin-seo, who managed to pick up a bronze medal last year at an ISU-sanctioned Junior Grand Prix in Austria, is not expected to make a podium finish in Canada.
