Trade Surplus Shrinks in December

Exports are showing signs of a decline for the first time in three months. The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said on Tuesday the trade surplus shrank in December from a year earlier as exports dropped at a faster rate than imports.

Outbound shipments dipped 5.5 percent last month from the same period one year earlier to US$42.3 million, leaving the trade surplus at around $2.03 billion.
