Pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin had a chance to meet his fans at Koreatown in Los Angeles on Wednesday, one day after he was officially presented as a Dodger.
Over 300 fans, including local residents, gathered in front of Radio Korea, a Korean radio station in the mid-Wilshire district of the city, to see the star.
"I hope I can play in Los Angeles, known for its huge population of Korean Americans, for a long time," said Ryu, who is due to arrive back in Incheon International Airport on Thursday evening.
The Dodgers decided to hold another press conference for Ryu in Korea. His former team, Hanwha Eagles, plan to hold a sending-off party with fans at Daejeon Hanbat Baseball Stadium.
Ryu will return to the U.S. in January to prepare for life in the Majors.
