Choo Shin-soo
Choo Shin-soo of the Cleveland Indians in Major League Baseball has been named among the finalists for the Golden Glove award for right fielder in the American League. The list was released on Tuesday.
The award is given to the player in each position in each league who displayed the best defensive skills. The winner is determined by a vote among the managers and coaches of 30 MLB teams.
Choo played in 154 games as a right fielder this season and recorded seven assists with his strong throwing arm. Taking full advantage of his quick feet, Choo also registered a 0.993 fielding percentage with a number of sliding catches.
His competitors in the league are Jeff Francoeur of the Kansas City Royals and Josh Reddick of the Oakland Athletics. Choo leads in fielding percentage as Francoeur has 0.985 and Reddick 0.982. However, Francoeur has 19 assists and Reddic 15. The winners will be announced on Wednesday.
