LG Optimus G Phone Reaps Praise
LG Electronics' new flagship smartphone, the Optimus G, is garnering favorable reviews abroad. The Optimus G ranked just behind Apple's iPhone 5 for the third week of October on Japanese website BCN Ranking, only a week after it was released in Japan on Oct. 19.
The iPhone series grabbed the first five places in terms of model preference among mobile providers, and the Optimus G ranked sixth.
"The LG Optimus G is one of the most powerful devices on the market," wrote IntoMobile, a U.S. mobile news website. "If you're torn between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5, don't make your decision yet until you see what the Optimus G brings to the table."
The Optimus G "boasts the industry's best hardware features," the Financial Times said.
The gadget will be released in North America through major mobile providers next month.
