Korea Ranked 108th in Gender Equality

Korea ranks as one of the worst countries in the world in terms of gender equality. An annual survey released by the World Economic Forum ranked Korea 108th out of 135 countries, one notch lower than in 2011.

The report analyzed nations in 14 areas, from access to opportunities and life expectancy to education and the number of female cabinet members in their governments.

Korea came in 116th in terms of economic participation, 99th in women's education and 86th in gender equality in politics. The WEF has compiled the list since 2006.
