Map of Post-War Japan Marks Dokdo as Korean Territory

Korea has restored a Japanese map from the 1930s that marks the Dokdo islets as part of Korea's territory.

The National Archives of Korea said the map, produced by the Japanese government in 1936, helped the allied powers recognize Dokdo as Korean territory after Japan's defeat in World War II.

Donated to the Independence Hall of Korea by a Korean researcher in the 1980s, the map clearly includes Dokdo and nearby Ulleung Island as part of Korea.
