Singer Sean has donated W51.5 million to build a rehabilitation hospital for children, the Purme Foundation said on Wednesday. He is a goodwill ambassador for the charity, which is dedicated to helping people with disabilities.

Prior to taking part in a recent triathlon to raise funds in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province for Park Eun-chong, a boy who is suffering from a rare disease that is difficult to cure, Sean had pledged to donate the sum, equivalent to W1,000 for every meter he would run (US$1=W1,103).

The money will be used to help construct a hospital for children with disabilities, which is expected to be located on a 3,215 sq.m plot of land in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
