Annual Defense Drill to Start Next Week

Korea will launch its annual Hoguk Exercise next week to prepare for provocations from North Korea and bolster cooperation across all branches of the military.

Over 240,000 troops from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, along with police officers and government officials, will participate in the large-scale drill that runs from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said. Around 500 U.S. troops will also participate in the exercise.
