SK Telecom will offer enhanced-quality voice calls on Apple's new iPhone, which will be released soon here, by supporting the wideband audio function, the company said on Tuesday.

The service, which will be available from early next year, is capable of handling a frequency bandwidth that is 2.2 times wider than that used for regular 3G voice calls, it added.

SK Telecom currently provides 4G subscribers with the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service, but the wideband audio function will also be available to 3G subscribers.
