Korea lost to Iran 1-0 in the final round of Asian qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil at the Azadi Stadium in Teheran on Wednesday. It was Korea's first loss at this qualifying stage after the team recorded two wins and a draw.

Iran's win leaves it tied with Korea on seven points, but Korea managed to maintain the top spot in Group A due to its better goal difference. Uzbekistan ranks third with five points after it defeated Qatar 1-0 on the same day.

The top two teams of each group qualify for the World Cup.
