Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel won his second consecutive title at the Formula One Korean Grand Prix on Sunday. Vettel completed 55 laps of the 5.615-km Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province in 1 hour 36 minutes and 28.651 seconds, and K-pop star Psy marked his victory by waving the checkered flag as the German crossed the line.
Vettel's Australian teammate Mark Webber came second and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso of Spain finished third. Germany's Michael Schumacher, who announced his plans to retire at the end of this season, came 13th.
This was Vettel's fourth title out of 16 Grand Prix events this season, and it put him back at the top of the leader board. He got the season off to a slow start before winning the last three races, including stops in Singapore and Japan, and added another 25 points in Korea, putting him six points ahead of his main rival Alonso, who now has 209 points in the drivers' championship after adding 15 in Korea.
Some 86,259 spectators came to watch the final race on Sunday, bringing the total for the three-day event to 164,000.
