A jazz festival will open from Friday to Sunday on Jara Island in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. In its 9th year, it will bring together top musicians from home and abroad.

In its inaugural year in 2004, the festival drew around 30,000 visitors and has since grown to attract over 180,000 people last year.

This year's event will feature famous foreign artists including the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the John Scofield Trio, and Jimmy Cobb.

Tickets cost W30,000 for children and young adults under 19 and W40,000 for adults.
