Poet Ko Un Once Again Nominated for Nobel Prize

Korean poet Ko Un is reportedly once again on the shortlist of candidates for this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.

The 79-year-old has been writing poems for nearly 60 years, and has been nominated for the prestigious annual prize every year for the past decade.

Other nominees for this year's prize in literature are Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami and Irish author William Trevor. The date of the announcement has not yet been confirmed, but many expect that it will come on Oct. 11.

Other Nobel prize winners will be announced starting Monday, beginning with the prize in medicine.
