Korean Troops to Help South Sudan Reconstruction

Korea will send troops to South Sudan in December. The National Assembly passed a bill on Thursday to send some 300 military engineers to Bor County, some 200 km from the South Sudanese capital of Juba.

They will be tasked with reconstruction work and providing medical assistance to the local community.

The Korean forces will be rotated every six months, and the initial dispatch period will last until the end of 2013.
