LG Electronics on Thursday started selling its new Optimus Vu 2 smartphone through the three major mobile providers here. The Optimus Vu 2 is the perennial No. 2's attempt to rival Samsung's Galaxy Note 2.
The Optimus Vu 2 has a 5-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 2GB RAM, double the capacity of the previous model. It has a slot to connect an external memory device, making it easier to transfer files.
Users can also connect their household appliances on the phone and use it as a remote control for their TVs, radios and air conditioners.
"We hope the Optimus Vu 2 along with the Optimus G sweeps the market amid heated competitions," a press release said. The phone costs W966,000 (US$1=W1,117).
