Hyundai Motor Offers Top Salaries Among Conglomerates

Hyundai Motor has been ranked as the highest-paying employer in Korea. According to a survey of 193 listed firms affiliated to the top 30 conglomerates by Chaebul.com, a conglomerate research firm on Monday, the automaker paid an average annual salary of W89.34 million last year.

This is the first time a company in the manufacturing sector has taken the No. 1 spot as the highest-paying company. The average annual salary at the 30 conglomerates stood at W63.49 million.

Samsung Life Insurance ranked second with W89.13 million, followed by SK Securities (W85.09 million), Kia Motors (W84.91 million), Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance (W84.58 million), Samsung Securities (W83.1 million) and Samsung Engineering (W81.84 million). Samsung Electronics came 11th with W77.6 million.
