Super Sub Park Chu-young First Korean to Score in La Liga

Park Chu-young scored the game winner with an electrifying finish to see new club Celta Vigo down Getafe 2-1 at the club's Balaidos Stadium in Vigo on Sunday (Korean time).

It was only Park's second match for the Spanish La Liga outfit, and the first goal ever scored by a Korean in La Liga.

Two minutes after coming on as a sub in the 65th minute, Park raced down the right side of the penalty area, latched on to a cross from Michael Krohn-Dehli and volleyed home a blistering goal with his first touch of the game to seal the win.

Celta Vigo now has two wins and three losses from five matches this season.

Lee Chun-soo played in the same league for two teams -- for Real Sociedad during the 2003-2004 season and Numancia the following season -- but he never managed to find the back of the net. Lee Ho-jin also played for Racing Santander during the 2005-2006 season but failed to score.

Park found himself mostly warming the bench last season with Arsenal in the English Premier League, playing in just six matches. He was loaned to Celta Vigo last month and made his Spanish debut on Sept. 16 against Valencia, when he came on as a sub for Mario Bermejo in the second half.
