Chang Do-won, the founder and CEO of American clothing brand Forever 21, will appear on CNN's popular talk show "Talk Asia." Chang will chat with host Kristie Lu Stout at one of his fast fashion stores in Hong Kong that opened early this year.
Chang's success story will be aired at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (Korean time). He will talk about how he and his wife Jin-sook grew a small clothing store with annual sales of US$30,000 into a sprawling retail empire with 500 branches worldwide, including ones in the U.S., Britain and Japan. Some 28 years after he launched the business, he now has 40,000 employees and reaps annual sales of $3.4 billion.
The Changs were ranked 38th on Forbes list of the world's most powerful couples in July last year. At the time, Forbes valued their property holdings at $3.6 billion, and they placed 88th among the 400 richest couples in the U.S.
Jin-sook was named the 39th most powerful woman in the world by the magazine that same year.
"Talk Asia" features an in-depth interview with newsmakers for 30 minutes every week.
