ID verification for adult-only sites will become more complicated on Sunday to prevent youngsters from seeing things they are not supposed to see.

So far, users only had to enter their name and resident registration number, but now an authorized certification process will be needed.

The measure is part of a new law that also requires the profile of people who provide harmful media content to youngsters to be published online, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Affairs said Thursday.

The law was amended last year and makes it difficult for minors to access certain online broadcasting and video chat sites which deem to be harmful.
