Hyundai Motor's Veloster raced past BMW's Mini Cooper in terms of sales in the U.S. market in August.
The Korean automaker said it sold over 3,700 units of the Veloster last month, making it the second-most popular sports compact car in the U.S. BMW sold around 3600 Mini Coopers to come third in the category. Fiat's 500 took the top spot.
Hyundai attributes the strong performance to the launch of a turbo version of the Velostar in the U.S. last month.
