The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at Sookmyung Women's University finished this year's military training exercises with the best scores among all participants, beating even male rivals from other colleges.

"A total of 58 ROTC cadets from the school received the highest score among 109 ROTC units at the winter training program, which took place in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, for two weeks from January to February," the university said on Thursday.

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from Sookmyung Women's University pose for a photo at their university campus in Seoul on Thursday.

They flashed their skills at defending themselves under CBR (chemical, biological, and radiological) attacks, and exercised their prowess at handling firearms and grenades.

The university began running a ROTC program for women last year and the first group of female cadets will be commissioned to serve next year.
