After a controversy over rules threatened to mar its fourth appearance at the Olympics in London this year, Taekwondo has proved itself to be an exciting and inspiring sport.

Now the World Taekwondo Federation aims to keep the momentum going with an annual Taekwondo symposium in Seoul. The event seeks to foster Olympic values among the 70 million athletes who practice the martial art worldwide.

Taekwondo will feature at the 2016 Rio Games but its future after that remains uncertain, with speculation rife that it may find itself booted off the Olympic roster.

The International Olympic Committee is considering eliminating one of the 26 core sports from the roster at the 125th IOC session in Buenos Aires next September, where they will also consider adding new sports for the 2020 Summer Games.
