Judoka Bags Korea's First Paralympic Gold in 20 Years

Visually impaired judoka Choi Gwang-geun pocketed the gold medal in the men's -100 kg class at the 2012 London Paralympics on Saturday.

He beat Myles Porter of the U.S. by ippon in just 45 seconds at the ExCeL Arena.

The victory marked Korea's first gold in the sport at the Paralympics since An Yu-sung triumphed in the men's 86-kg class in Barcelona in 1992.

Meanwhile, Kang Ju-young won gold in the mixed R4-10m air rifle standing at the Royal Artillery Barracks with a new Paralympic record of 705.5 points, breaking the previous record of 704.3 points.

Korea currently ranks 18th with three gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
