A Japanese court rules on a patent lawsuit between Apple and Samsung on Friday. Following Apple's win over Samsung in a patent trial in the U.S., the Tokyo District Court is to issue an interim ruling on one of two lawsuits Apple has filed against Samsung in Japan, industry insiders said Thursday.
Interim rulings are a part of the Japanese judicial process, whereby a court discloses its view before the final ruling.
Apple claimed Samsung's Galaxy smartphone series and Galaxy Tab table PC infringed its patented technology which allows the smartphone to be synched with a computer.
The court is also expected to issue rulings soon on separate patent lawsuits Samsung filed against Apple. Samsung filed a total of 10 patent lawsuits covering mobile technology against Apple.
