Paris Baguette Opens 100th Store in China

SPC Group opened the 100th Chinese branch of its Paris Baguette bakery chain in Beijing's Nanzhan, it said on Thursday. Paris Baguette became the first Korean bakery franchise to have 100 stores in China, eight years after it opened its first store in Shanghai's Gubei in 2004.

In addition to its several stores in Tianjin and Nanjing, it aims to increase the number of its branches in China to 500 by 2015, including in the northeastern, western and southern regions.

"To satisfy Chinese consumers' tastes, we have customized products to their liking, which is one of the keys to our success," the franchise said.

It now operates 21 stores in the U.S. and two in Vietnam, and plans to enter the Singaporean market next month.
