LG Electronics revealed the Optimus G on Tuesday, its new smartphone that features high-tech components manufactured by the company's affiliates such as LG Display and LG Innotek.
The handset uses a new display technology developed by LG Display and a touchscreen jointly developed by LG Display and LG Innotek. The new touchscreen was made thinner by integrating the cover glass and touch sensor into one component.
The Optimus G also comes equipped with a 2,100-mAh high-capacity battery from LG Chem and a 13-megapixel camera from LG Innotek.
"We will launch the Optimus G in Korea next month and in the global market later this year," LG said. "We'll roll the phone out on all three local mobile carriers."
