Major Typhoon Heading to Korea

A massive typhoon is heading toward Korea and is expected to deliver as much as 300 mm of rainfall next Monday and Tuesday, the Korea Meteorological Administration said Thursday.

Typhoon Bolaven will bring winds of 40-50 m/s off the south coast of Jeju Island between Friday and Saturday and in the west and south seas on Sunday and Monday, the KMA said.

Bolaven will grow in strength as it nears the country, with Jeju Island falling under its direct influence on Monday.
