Heiress to the Hilton Hotel empire and socialite Paris Hilton will feature in a music video for the title song of Kim Jang-hoon's 10th album, which is scheduled to be released on Oct. 4.
"We considered several Hollywood stars, such as Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson and Paris Hilton, for the role of lead actress in Kim's new music video. But a survey conducted in Korea showed that Paris Hilton was the most well-known, so we chose her," Kim's agency said on Wednesday.
Hilton, the great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton, emerged as a star of the U.S. entertainment industry in the early 2000s as she became the talk of the town due to various scandals and her lavish lifestyle.
The music video will be filmed in parts of Los Angeles and on the beaches of Malibu from Thursday to Saturday, and will be available in both 2D and 3D. Although she is well-known for her extravagance and risqué behavior and comments, Hilton will appear in a more demure guise in the music video as the song is a ballad.
The agency said that veteran production staff from Hollywood will work on the video, and that the production cost will be around W1.5 billion (US$1=W1,136).
