Gymnastics gold medalist Yang Hak-seon has received a bonus of W100 million for his stellar achievement in the men's vault at the London Olympics (US$1=W1,135).
The Korea Gymnastics Association awarded the money to Yang, Korea's first Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics on Monday. Yang vowed to "repay the people's support by further improving my skills."
Meanwhile, the association also gave W10 million to Son Yeon-jae, the nation's first rhythmic gymnast to advance to the Olympic final. She took fifth place in the individual all-round final in London.
