Actor Lee Byung-hun admitted his feelings for Lee Min-jung on Sunday and said they have been dating. "I found someone I want to be with," the 42-year-old actor wrote on his website. "She has become the most important person to me and I want to take this relationship seriously."
The 30-year-old actress also posted a message on her website confirming their relationship. Earlier this year, the two denied being romantically involved a couple of times.
They have known each other for several years but it was not until early this year that they started to get closer after they bumped into each other by chance, the actor said. "We had not prepared for what would happen if our relationship became public knowledge. Most of all, we've been treading carefully as even our parents and management agencies did not know we were in a relationship," the actress explained.
As rumors began to swirl that they will wed in November, they decided to disclose their relationship.
"All the rumors are groundless. They don't have any wedding plans yet and they have not even discussed the matter," said an acquaintance of the actor. "They just decided to go public about the fact that they're together to put an end to all the rumors and speculation."
After making his acting debut on TV in 1991, Lee Byung-hun has gained enormous popularity across Asia. He has also made a name for himself in the U.S. by appearing in the Hollywood action film series "G. I. Joe."
