Legal procedures have delayed the anticipated results of the patent suit between Samsung Electronics and Apple in Korea.

The Seoul Central District Court pushed back the ruling of Samsung's patent infringement case against Apple from this Friday to Aug. 24.

Last April, Samsung Electronics filed a suit against Apple claiming the U.S. firm used its patented technology in both the iPad and iPhone. Two months later, Apple counter-sued, arguing that Samsung copied its designs and user interfaces for its smartphones and tablets.

The outcome of this ruling is likely to indicate who will have the upper hand in the ongoing global patent war between the two tech giants.
