With a red carpet full of movie stars and other celebrities like actor Kim Dong-wook and actress Lee Yoon-ji in attendance, the 8th Jecheon International Music and Film Festival (JIMFF) opened yesterday.
The opening ceremony was held on an open-air stage on the shore of Cheongpung Lake in Jecheon at 8 p.m.
Unlike other film festivals' curtain raisers, a musical was performed at this year's JIMFF to give movie fans a variety of enjoyment. The award-winning musical "Moby Dick," based on Herman Melville's novel, got things off to a scorching start.
The opening movie was "Searching for Sugar Man," a British documentary about the life of singer-songwriter Sixto Rodriguez. Some 101 musical films will be screened for seven days ending next Wednesday.
