Korea's 33-year-old veteran judoka Song Dae-nam beat Cuba's Asley Gonzalez bywaza-ari during the final of men's -90 kg judo at the ExCeL Arena in London on Thursday.

It is Korea's second gold medal in judo, following the victory by Kim Jae-bum a day earlier in the men's -81 kg category. The last time that Korea won two or more gold medals in men's judo at the Olympics was 24 years ago.

"I had such a strong longing for the Olympics because I had never experienced them," Song said. "Given my age, I really wanted to win an Olympic medal as it could be my first and last."
