Samsung Electronics on Wednesday caved in to customer complaints and pledged to provide free repairs for the new Galaxy S3 smartphone in case of image retention or burn-in problems on the screen.
The company also decided to delete a sentence from the user's manual saying it is not responsible for these problems, claiming it only included the sentence to help customers understand features of the AMOLED screen.
OLED-type displays tend to be susceptible to burn-in problems.
