Lee Hyun-joo

KBS presenter Lee Hyun-joo will co-host KBS1's primetime "News 9" from next Monday, KBS said on Wednesday.

Lee joined KBS in March 2009 after she graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

"Lee has gained a wide range of experience from hosting various news and educational programs," said an insider at the broadcaster. The good-looking presenter "also has a good voice and the presentation skills that are required for news programs."

"We selected Lee after having an internal screening and testing process. We also reflected the opinions of a focus group of KBS viewers."

Lee said she will work hard to build a sense of rapport and intimacy with viewers.

Cho Soo-bin, who has been hosting the show since 2008, recently expressed her wish to leave the show due to her pregnancy and for health reasons.
