A North Korean video makes the voice of the mother of leader Kim Jong-un publicly audible for the first time.
Ko Yong-hui, late leader Kim Jong-il's third wife, is heard speaking in a film reportedly screened for top military officers and the Workers Party, which shows her inspecting military sites along with her husband.
Experts say Pyongyang has been trying to boost the personality cult surrounding Ko by releasing photos of her with Kim Jong-un in his childhood since May. The film gives neither her name nor the exact date.
Ko, who died of cancer in 2004, is believed to have been born in Japan in 1952 and moved to North Korea with her family in the 1960s.
