Daewoo Engineering and Construction has won a US$500 million (US$1=W1,167) bid to restore a stream running through the Algerian capital of Algiers, the Environment Ministry said Thursday.
Daewoo E&C signed a deal with the Algerian government to restore the 18-kilometer section of the stream connected to the degraded El Harrach River.
The project is part of Seoul's support program for domestic firms to expand their businesses abroad, especially in developing countries.
