President Lee Myung-bak will leave for a 10-day trip to four Latin American countries -- Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Colombia -- on Sunday.
He is scheduled to attend the G20 Summit in Mexico next Monday and Tuesday, after which he will fly to Rio de Janeiro to take part in the UN Conference on Sustainable Growth, also known as the Rio-plus-20 Summit.
Lee will also visit Chile and meet with his counterpart there, President Sebastian Pinera, to discuss ways of expanding cooperation in the defense, energy and resources sectors.
After wrapping up his stay in Chile, Lee will make his first state visit to Colombia, where the two countries are expected to sign a free trade agreement as negotiations have entered a final stage.
