LG Electronics has sold over 3 million 4G LTE smartphones worldwide, it said Sunday. The firm released its first LTE smartphone, the Revolution, through U.S. mobile provider Verizon in May last year and has since expanded its market to Europe and Asia with the Optimus LTE.
LG was slightly wrong-footed by the smartphone revolution but is now selling its LTE smartphones in 10 countries and plans to double the figure by the end of this year, especially in the Middle East.
Sales of the Optimus LTE hit the 1 million mark here this month, making it LG's first smartphone to achieve the feat.
