Skinny Jeans Can Cause Nerve Damage, Doctor Warns

Skinny jeans are so popular that nearly everyone, skinny or not, probably has a pair, but doctors warn that wearing them too tight can cause nerve damage.

ABC on Thursday quoted Dr. Keren Boyle from the Greater Baltimore Medical Centre as claiming that wearing tight trousers too frequently can increase the chance of suffering from meralgia paresthetica, which "causes symptoms of tingling, numbness and pain in the upper legs."

"It's a disorder that occurs when one of the nerves that runs in the outer part of a thigh gets compressed," Boyle said.
