The Health Ministry reports that about 122,000 foreign patients visited Korea last year, a near 49-percent jump from the year before.
Most medical tourists were American, followed by Japanese, Chinese and Russians. The most common treatments they sought were medical checkups, skin treatment and plastic surgery.
Government data show that Korean hospitals earned more than W180 billion (US$1=W1,167) from foreign patients last year.
