Nongshim has joined hands with Japanese fashion chain Uniqlo to produce T-shirts featuring the logo of its instant noodles.
"Uniqlo asked us if they could use the logo on their T-shirts, so we discussed possible designs and went ahead," the food manufacturer said in a press release Tuesday.
The T-shirts went on sale in April at around 1,000 stores in 13 countries. They cost W24,900 (US$1=W1,129). The T-shirts feature the Chinese character "Shin" which means spicy.
Uniqlo has teamed up with multinational corporations like IBM, Microsoft, and Procter and Gamble since 2003 to make T-shirts featuring their logos, for which there is apparently a lively market.
