A Korean children's book has been selected as the best book this spring in Poland. Renowned online literature community Granice.pl selected "Leafie, A Hen into the Wild," Korea's best-selling children's story by Hwang Sun-mi, as the pick of the season.
It was first published in Korea back in 2000 and has been translated into six languages including English, German and Chinese. The book was also adapted into an animated feature under the same title last year, attracting two million viewers in Korea and grabbing a number of international film awards.
This is the first time a Korean book has received any kind of literary award in Poland.
